Our 2018 Leadership Team was installed yesterday at our January membership meeting and luncheon. We would like to everyone who attended and a special thank you to Cathy Alley, 2018 Florida REALTORS District 9 Vice President for attending and facilitating the installation. After the installation, President Sabrina Burke presented the 2017 REALTOR of the Year award to Rod Cabezas.
We had a good turn out yesterday for our membership meeting, election of 2018 officers and association update. Our guest Teresa Dyer spoke to the members about her experiences serving as our District Vice President as well as sharing some news from Florida REALTORS. RAFGC Treasurer Rod Cabezas went over the associations financial status and President Jereme Neill informed the members about the new iMAPP program that we will be incorporating into our MLS system in the very near future. Association Executive Gloria Salinard went over the 2018 budget and dues increase.
We had a good crowd at yesterdays lunch and learn. Our featured speaker Deborah McClellan from Hancock Bank explained how she helps clients close home loans quickly and avoids closing delays. In addition, special guest Representative Halsey Beshears was here for a Q&A session with the members and John Green with the Lynnwood Development Corporation shared information on “What’s Happening” at St. James Bay Golf Course. A special thanks goes out to Hancock Bank for sponsoring a delicious lunch.
At Tuesday’s lunch and learn guest speakers Carrie Johnson, Amber Lowry, Chris Knox, and Kristie Hamilton from Centennial Bank discussed the Loan Process and how to avoid issues that could arise which may cause delays at closing. A special thanks to Bite Me Deli for catering the luncheon and to all the members who participated.
There was a special guest at yesterday’s Lunch & Learn, Scooter the gopher tortoise! Guest speaker Alex Kalfin brought Scooter along to help educate members on the importance of laws concerning protected species and how those laws relate to Real Estate transactions. Lunch prepared by our own Gloria Salinard, A.E. was delicious as always and the event ended with a fun photo-op with Scooter.
In spite of the rain, we were almost at capacity for yesterdays Lunch & Learn. Peoples South Bank partnered with Florida First Capital Finance Corporation to discuss SBA 504 loans with an emphasis on providing business acquisition funding. Special thanks to Earl Solomon and James Hossman for hosting the event.
Yesterday’s Luncheon sponsored by Wells Fargo was beautifully catered and had a good turn out. Guest speaker Shannon Wood discussed first time buyer loan options and the logistics of applying for a mortgage. She also provided information on the various loan programs offered by Wells Fargo and the features and benefits off each program.
We had a full house AGAIN for our Lunch & Learn yesterday sponsored by Hancock Bank. Deborah McClellan shared her expertise on condo financing, addressing key topics such as Condominium Eligibility Criteria and Acceptable vs. Unacceptable Condo Projects. Hancock Bank also provided a delicious lunch for our members to enjoy. We thank Hancock Bank for their sponsorship and Deborah McClellan for a great presentation!
