Telling a Story that Matters: a Memoir Workshop

Dr. Milinda Jay Stephenson, Asst. Professor, Florida State University-Panama City

As a professor of Creative Writing and a published novelist, Milinda is always in search of how to hone her craft and pass her knowledge on to others. Her talk will show that story—not literary brilliance—is at the heart of fiction and non-fiction that sells and how you can learn  to incorporate your family stories into a memoir

When her family-story-turned-fiction novel was published in 2016 by Mercer University Press, Annie Laura’s Triumph was chosen as one of the top “7 Mother’s Day Reads for the Literary Mom” by Parade Magazine.  The second part of the trilogy, Annie Laura’s Gift will be released in January, 2019.
